Himalayan Shortwing, Brachypteryx cruralis, is a passerine in the Muscicapidae family, found in the Oriental Region from the central Himalayas and Myanmar to southern China, north-west Thailand and northern Indochina. It is a chat of moist montane forest, and it is associated with dense cover. Its nest is made from moss and grass stems and is set in a thick shrub. Described by Blyth in 1843, it belongs to the order Passeriformes.
