Himalayan Thrush, Zoothera salimalii, is a thrush of the Oriental Region, breeding from West Bengal and Arunachal Pradesh in India to Yunnan in China. It was described in 2016 by Alström, Rasmussen, Zhao J, Xu J, Dalvi, Cai T, Guan Y, Zhang R, Kalyakin, Lei F and Olsson. It lives in forested habitats and is set apart from the alpine thrush. Compared with that bird, it has shorter legs, tail and wings, a longer bill, and a more musical call. Its name honours the Indian ornithologist Sálim Ali.
