Himalayan Tree Creeper

Certhia himalayana

The Himalayan Tree Creeper (Certhia himalayana) is a small, elusive bird found in the Himalayan region of Asia. It is known for its distinctive habit of creeping up tree trunks in search of insects and larvae. This species has a mottled brown and white plumage that provides excellent camouflage against tree bark. The Himalayan Tree Creeper is well-adapted to its forest habitat, using its strong, pointed beak to probe for food in crevices and under bark. It is often observed in mixed coniferous and broadleaf forests at elevations ranging from 1500 to 3000 meters. Despite its relatively widespread distribution, the conservation status of the Himalayan Tree Creeper is currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN.
