Himalayan White-browed Rosefinch, Carpodacus thura, is a finch of the Himalayas and adjoining highland areas, breeding in subalpine forest and alpine scrub from north-east Afghanistan and northern Pakistan through Bhutan and into adjacent south-east Tibet. It belongs to the family Fringillidae and was described by Bonaparte and Schlegel in 1850. Outside the breeding season it makes some movement with altitude. Its range lies across the Palearctic and Oriental regions along the south-western edge of the Palearctic and the western border of the Oriental region.
