Hinde's Babbler

Turdoides hindei

Hinde's Babbler (Turdoides hindei) is a medium-sized bird found in the woodlands and savannas of central Africa. It is known for its distinctive black and white plumage, with a rufous-brown back and a striking white eye-ring. These social birds are often seen in small groups foraging for insects and small fruits in the undergrowth. They have a melodious and varied song that they use for communication within the group. Hinde's Babblers are known for their cooperative breeding behavior, with multiple individuals helping to raise the young in a communal nest. While not currently considered threatened, habitat loss and degradation are potential future threats to this species.
