Hoffmann's conure

Pyrrhura hoffmanni

Hoffmann's conure (Pyrrhura hoffmanni) is a small parrot species native to the cloud forests of Costa Rica and western Panama. These colorful birds are known for their vibrant plumage and playful nature. They have a green body with red on the head, wings, and tail. Hoffmann's conures are social birds that form strong pair bonds and live in flocks. They communicate through a variety of calls and are often seen foraging for fruits, seeds, and flowers in the forest canopy. Due to habitat loss and capture for the pet trade, Hoffmann's conure populations are declining, and they are listed as Near Threatened by the IUCN.
