Carpornis cucullata
The Hooded Berryeater (Carpornis cucullata) is a medium-sized bird found in the forests of South America. It has a distinctive black hood and bright blue bill, with a brownish body and white underparts. This species is known for its frugivorous diet, feeding on a variety of berries and fruits found in the forest canopy. It plays an important role in seed dispersal and forest regeneration. The Hooded Berryeater is often observed in mixed-species flocks, foraging and vocalizing in the dense vegetation. Its population is currently stable, but deforestation and habitat loss pose potential threats to its long-term survival.
