Horned Parakeet, Eunymphicus cornutus, breeds on Grande Terre in New Caledonia. It is a parrot in the Psittaculidae family and was described by Gmelin in 1788. The bird is tied to forested parts of the island, including rainforest, laurel forest and humid pine forest, and it also uses scrub and savannah. Its most notable feature is a pair of black head feathers with red tips. Adults are about 32 cm long.
