Chlamydotis undulata

The Houbara Bustard is a large bird in the bustard family found in arid and semi-arid regions of North Africa and the Middle East. It has a distinctive long neck and legs, and a brown and white mottled plumage that provides excellent camouflage in its desert habitat. This species is known for its elaborate courtship displays, which involve inflating its neck and throat sac and making deep booming calls. The Houbara Bustard is primarily a ground-dwelling bird, foraging for insects, seeds, and small reptiles. It faces threats from habitat loss, hunting, and disturbance, leading to population declines and conservation concerns.
