Hume's Short-toed Lark

Hume's Short-toed Lark, Calandrella acutirostris, is a lark of the Palearctic, breeding in south-central Asia and wintering in northern India. It was described by Hume in 1873. The species is also known as Hume's lark and Karakoram short-toed lark, and it is one of two recognised subspecies. It is close in form to the greater short-toed lark, but is usually less striking, with a slightly smaller bill and darker plumage. Its voice is useful for identification, with a shrill trree and a rolling drreep.
