Hume's warbler

Phylloscopus humei

Hume's warbler (Phylloscopus humei) is a small leaf warbler found in the Himalayan region and parts of Central Asia. It has a distinctive olive-green upperparts and pale underparts, with a prominent eye-ring and thin pointed bill. This species is known for its high-pitched, insect-like song and its agile foraging behavior in dense foliage. Hume's warbler breeds in coniferous and mixed forests at high altitudes, and migrates to wintering grounds in the Indian subcontinent and Southeast Asia. It is a highly active and acrobatic bird, often seen flitting and hovering among branches and leaves in search of insects. Despite its widespread distribution, the population trends of Hume's warbler are not well-documented, and its conservation status remains uncertain.
