Huon Melidectes, Melidectes foersteri, is a honeyeater of montane Huon Peninsula in north-eastern New Guinea, where it is found in Papua New Guinea. It belongs to the family Meliphagidae and is part of the order Passeriformes. Its breeding range is confined to this upland area. It is associated with subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. The species was described by Rothschild and Hartert in 1911.
