Ihering's Antwren

Ihering's Antwren is a small passerine bird found in the Atlantic Forest of Brazil. It is known for its distinctive black and white plumage, with males having a black head and back, and females having a grayish-olive head and back. This species forages for insects and spiders in the understory of humid forests, often in dense vegetation near the ground. It is typically observed in pairs or small groups, and its high-pitched vocalizations can be heard throughout the forest. The Ihering's Antwren is currently classified as Near Threatened due to habitat loss and fragmentation within its restricted range.
