Indian Black-lored Tit

Indian Black-lored Tit, Machlolophus aplonotus, is a passerine in the tit family Paridae and breeds in peninsular India in the Oriental Region. It is a resident bird of open tropical forest across the Indian subcontinent, and it does not occur in Sri Lanka. It is best known for the broad black stripe running down the front, with a black head, crest, throat and neck, yellow cheeks and supercilia, olive-green upperparts, and two pale wingbars. The white outer tail feathers also help to identify it. Females and young birds are less vivid, and the underparts become duller towards the south.
