Caprimulgus griseatus
The Indian Jungle Nightjar is a nocturnal bird found in the Indian subcontinent. It is known for its cryptic plumage, which provides excellent camouflage during the day. This species is primarily insectivorous, feeding on moths, beetles, and other flying insects. It is often observed near forest edges, scrublands, and open woodlands, where it hunts for prey in the dim light of dusk and dawn. The Indian Jungle Nightjar is a master of stealth, using its silent flight and mottled plumage to blend seamlessly with its surroundings. This species is not currently considered to be at risk, but habitat loss and disturbance could pose future threats.
