Indian White-eye

Zosterops mysorensis

The Indian White-eye (Zosterops mysorensis) is a small, active bird found in the Indian subcontinent and parts of Southeast Asia. It is characterized by its distinctive white eye-ring, bright yellow underparts, and olive-green upperparts. These sociable birds are often found in small flocks, foraging for insects, nectar, and fruits in a variety of habitats including gardens, forests, and scrublands. They are known for their melodious and varied songs, making them a popular sight and sound in urban and rural areas alike. The Indian White-eye is not currently considered at risk, and its population trend is stable.
