Eleoscytalopus indigoticus
The Indigo-banded Antbird is a small, insectivorous bird found in the Atlantic Forest of Brazil. It is known for its distinctive blue and black plumage, with the male sporting a vibrant blue crown and throat. This species forages on the forest floor, using its long legs to hop and search for insects and small invertebrates. It often follows army ant swarms, taking advantage of the insects flushed out by the ants. The Indigo-banded Antbird's habitat is threatened by deforestation and habitat fragmentation, leading to concerns about its long-term survival.
