Indigo-banded Kingfisher, Ceyx cyanopectus, is a bird of the Philippines in the kingfisher family, breeding in Luzon, Mindoro and the West Visayas. It was described by Lafresnaye in 1840. It lives along streams and rivers in tropical moist lowland forest, usually where the banks are densely wooded, and it also uses secondary forest. The bird is known for taking fish and aquatic insects, and for nesting in tunnels dug into stream and river banks. Some authorities split the western birds from those of Luzon, Mindoro and Masbate.
