Indigo Grosbeak

Cyanoloxia glaucocaerulea

The Indigo Grosbeak, scientifically known as Cyanoloxia glaucocaerulea, is a striking bird found in South America. The male boasts a vibrant indigo plumage with black wings and tail, while the female is a more subdued brownish-gray. These birds are often found in subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, where they forage for seeds and insects. The Indigo Grosbeak is known for its melodious song, and it often perches high in the canopy to sing. While not currently classified by the IUCN, the conservation status of this species is generally considered to be of Least Concern.
