Inland Thornbill

Acanthiza apicalis

The Inland Thornbill (Acanthiza apicalis) is a small passerine bird native to Australia. It is characterized by its olive-brown upperparts, pale underparts, and a distinct white eyebrow stripe. This species is often found in arid and semi-arid regions, where it forages for insects and spiders in shrubs and low vegetation. The Inland Thornbill is known for its high-pitched, tinkling call and its active, acrobatic foraging behavior. Despite its small size, it plays an important role in its ecosystem as a predator of small invertebrates. Although not currently considered threatened, the Inland Thornbill may face habitat loss and degradation in the future.
