Amaurornis isabellina (Schlegel, 1865)

Isabelline Bush-hen, Amaurornis isabellina, is a rail of Sulawesi in Australasia, where it is found in grasslands near water and in lowland areas. It is the largest member of Amaurornis and is also known as the Sulawesi waterhen or isabelline waterhen. Both sexes look alike, with olive-brown plumage, a pale green bill, greenish-brown legs and rufous underparts. The name refers to its colouring. It is a large bird, reaching up to 40 cm in length. Its call is a loud tak-tak-tak-tak.
