Isabelline Shrike

The Isabelline Shrike is a medium-sized bird known for its distinctive hooked bill and black mask. It is a migratory species, breeding in Central Asia and wintering in the Indian subcontinent and the Middle East. This bird is often found in open grasslands, agricultural areas, and scrublands. It preys on insects, small birds, and rodents, and is known for impaling its prey on thorns or barbed wire. The Isabelline Shrike is primarily grayish-brown with a pale underside and a white patch on its wings. Its conservation status is currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN.
