Isabelline waterhen

The Isabelline waterhen, scientifically known as Amaurornis isabellina, is a medium-sized bird found in wetlands and marshes across South and Southeast Asia. This waterhen is characterized by its olive-brown plumage, red bill, and long legs. It is a secretive bird that is often heard more than seen, emitting loud, repetitive calls. The Isabelline waterhen is an omnivorous species, feeding on a variety of insects, small fish, and plant matter. It builds its nest in dense vegetation near water, where it lays a clutch of eggs. The conservation status of the Isabelline waterhen is currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN.
