Garritornis isidorei
Isidore's Tern (Garritornis isidorei) is a medium-sized seabird found in the tropical and subtropical regions of the Indian Ocean. It has a distinctive black cap and nape, contrasting with a white forehead and underparts. The wings and back are pale gray, and the bill is yellow with a black tip. Isidore's Tern is known for its graceful flight and agile diving to catch fish. It nests in colonies on sandy islands and feeds primarily on small fish and squid. This species is vulnerable to habitat loss and disturbance at its breeding sites, as well as threats from pollution and overfishing in its foraging areas.
