Island Scrub-Jay

The Island Scrub-Jay is a medium-sized bird native to Santa Cruz Island in California. It is characterized by its blue plumage, a long tail, and a slightly curved bill. These birds are known for their intelligence and complex social behaviors. Island Scrub-Jays are omnivorous, feeding on a variety of plant materials, invertebrates, and occasionally small vertebrates. They inhabit oak woodlands and chaparral, often foraging on the ground for food. Due to their limited range and population size, they are vulnerable to habitat loss and introduced predators.
