Itombwe Owl, Tyto prigoginei, is a barn owl from eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and north-west Tanzania. It was first described by Schouteden in 1952. The species is tied to the Albertine Rift montane forests and has been recorded in montane forest with patches of grassland and bamboo. It is a small owl with chestnut upperparts, black and white markings on the crown and nape, and reddish cream underparts. Its facial disc is more U-shaped than in typical barn owls, and the ear tufts are barely visible.
