Ivory-billed Aracari, Pteroglossus azara, is a toucan of south-west Amazonia in South America. It is found in the western Amazon basin, including Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela. Within its range it uses a mix of forest types, especially varzea, gallery forest and secondary forest, and it is also recorded in terra firme, bamboo, cloudforest and plantations. The bird is most often associated with earlier stages of forest growth than with mature woodland. Its breeding range is in west Amazonia, and the nominate form is confined to Amazonas in Brazil.
