Jamaican Euphonia
Euphonia jamaica (Linnaeus, 1766)

Jamaican Euphonia, Euphonia jamaica, is a passerine finch found only on Jamaica. It lives across the island in wooded places, shrubland, gardens and orchards, and is most often recorded in hilly lowlands. It is the only Euphonia resident on the island. The bird has a short, thick bill, and its plumage varies with sex and age. Males are bluish grey with a yellow belly and pale undertail coverts, while females and young birds show grey front parts with olive upperparts and tails.
