Jamaican Vireo, Vireo modestus, is a bird of Jamaica in the family Vireonidae. It is found throughout the island and was first described by Sclater in 1861. This vireo is the only member of its kind, and both sexes share the same plumage. It lives in a wide range of forest types, especially moist tropical deciduous forest and drier lowland forest, though it avoids mangroves, marshes and tree plantations. It is a resident species, remaining on the island all year.
