Japanese Murrelet

The Japanese Murrelet is a small seabird that breeds in Japan and Russia. It has a distinctive black and white plumage, with a black cap and a white face. During the breeding season, it can be found nesting in rocky crevices along the coast. Outside of the breeding season, it is often seen foraging at sea, feeding on small fish and invertebrates. This species is known for its high-pitched calls and agile flight over the water. The Japanese Murrelet is vulnerable to threats such as habitat loss, pollution, and disturbance at breeding sites.
