The Japanese Paradise Flycatcher is a striking bird with long tail feathers and a black and white coloration. The male has a glossy black head, neck, and back, while the female is more subdued with a gray head and back. These birds are known for their graceful flight and melodious calls. They are often found in dense forests and woodlands, where they feed on insects by hawking from perches. During the breeding season, the male performs elaborate courtship displays to attract a mate. The Japanese Paradise Flycatcher is a migratory species, spending the winter in Southeast Asia and the breeding season in Japan and Korea.
