Japanese White-eye

The Japanese White-eye, also known as the Mejiro, is a small passerine bird native to East Asia. It is characterized by its distinctive white eye-ring, olive-green upperparts, and pale underparts. These agile birds are known for their acrobatic flight and melodious, warbling song. They are commonly found in a variety of habitats including forests, gardens, and parks. Japanese White-eyes primarily feed on nectar, fruits, and insects. They play an important role in pollination and seed dispersal. Due to their adaptability and widespread distribution, they are not currently considered at risk and are classified as a species of Least Concern by the IUCN.
