Javan Trogon, Apalharpactes reinwardtii, is a trogon of montane western Java in the Oriental Region. It breeds in the mountain forests of the Indonesian island of Java and is confined to that part of the island. The species was first described by Temminck in 1822. It belongs to the family Trogonidae and the order Trogoniformes. It is set apart from the Sumatran trogon by differences in plumage, body proportions and other features, and it is now placed in its own genus, Apalharpactes, rather than with the Asian trogons once grouped in Harpactes.
