Junin Grebe, Podiceps taczanowskii, is a grebe that breeds at Lake Junín, also known as Chinchaycocha, in west-central Peru. It is the only place where it occurs. The bird is flightless and was described by Berlepsch and Stolzmann in 1894. It is marked by a dark grey crown that runs on to the back of the neck and a black back, with white on the lower face, neck and underparts. Adults also show silvery grey feathers on the side of the head, and the eyes are bright red.
