Kaday's Blue Flycatcher

Cyornis kadayangensis

The Kaday's Blue Flycatcher is a small, insectivorous bird found in the Malay Peninsula and Sumatra. It has a distinctive blue plumage on the upperparts, with a white throat and belly. The male has a bright blue crown, while the female has a brownish crown. This species is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard in the dense undergrowth of primary and tall secondary forests. It forages for insects by making short sallies from perches. The Kaday's Blue Flycatcher is often secretive and difficult to observe due to its preference for dense vegetation.
