The Karoo Canary (Crithagra symonsi) is a small passerine bird found in the arid regions of South Africa. It has a distinctive yellow plumage with black streaks on the back and wings. The species is known for its melodious song, often heard during the breeding season. Karoo Canaries primarily feed on seeds and insects, foraging on the ground and in low shrubs. The conservation status of the Karoo Canary is currently listed as Least Concern by the IUCN, as it has a stable population and a relatively wide distribution range.
