Kawall's Amazon, Amazona kawalli, is a parrot of Amazonian Brazil in South America, where it breeds in the lowlands of the Amazon basin. It belongs to the Psittacidae family and was described in 1989 by Grantsau and Camargo. The bird is best told from the mealy amazon by the bare white area at the bill base, the small grey eye-ring, and the red near the tail. It also shows green plumage with blue and red on the outer flight feathers. It lives in flooded woodland and along forested river edges.
