Kentucky Warbler, Geothlypis formosa, breeds in central, eastern and south-eastern USA and spends the nonbreeding season from Mexico to northern South America. It is a New World warbler in the family Parulidae. The bird is small, with a short tail, and it often stays on or close to the ground, though it sings from other perches. Adults have olive-green upperparts, yellow underparts, a little black on the crown, and a black facial pattern with yellow around the eye. Females show less black on the face, and young birds may show very little.
