Kikuyu White-eye

Zosterops kikuyuensis

The Kikuyu White-eye (Zosterops kikuyuensis) is a small passerine bird found in the highlands of Kenya. It has a distinctive white eye-ring, olive-green upperparts, and a yellow throat and breast. This species is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard in the dense vegetation of montane forests and forest edges. The Kikuyu White-eye forages for insects and nectar in the canopy and understory, and is often found in small groups or mixed-species flocks. Its population is currently stable, but it faces potential threats from habitat loss and degradation.
