Phylloscopus ogilviegranti
The Kilombero Apalis (Phylloscopus ogilviegranti) is a small passerine bird found in the Kilombero Valley of Tanzania. It is characterized by its olive-green upperparts, yellow underparts, and distinct white eye-ring. This species is known for its acrobatic foraging behavior, often observed hanging upside down from leaves and branches while searching for insects. The Kilombero Apalis primarily inhabits the dense undergrowth of the valley's forests, where it can be found in mixed-species flocks. Due to habitat loss and fragmentation, this bird is considered vulnerable to extinction.
