Kinglet Calyptura, Calyptura cristata, is a passerine of the tyrant flycatcher family that breeds in south-eastern Brazil. It was first named by Vieillot in 1818. The bird is tied to the Atlantic Forest and has been recorded in Rio de Janeiro state, with modern sightings near Serra dos Órgãos National Park. It is a very small species with a short tail, and the sexes are much alike. Adult males show a large orange-red crown patch edged in black, while females have a smaller one. Its bill is conical, and the bill and legs appear dark.
