Kinglet Manakin, Machaeropterus regulus, is a passerine manakin of south-eastern Brazil, where it breeds in coastal forest from northeastern Bahia south to northern Rio de Janeiro state. It is a Brazilian endemic and is placed in the family Pipridae. The species was first described by Hahn in 1819. It uses humid lowland forest, including secondary growth and restinga, and is recorded mainly from sea level to about 200 m, with local records higher than that. It is a monotypic species.
