Kiritimati Sandpiper, Prosobonia cancellata, was an extinct shorebird of the family Scolopacidae that lived on Kiritimati in the Line Islands of eastern Polynesia. It was confined to that island, and the only records of it come from a contemporary drawing and a written account made during Cook’s third voyage, when the atoll was visited in late 1777 and early 1778. The species was first described in 1789 by Gmelin. It is also known as the Christmas sandpiper.
