Kirk's White-eye

Kirk's White-eye (Zosterops kirki) is a small passerine bird found in the Solomon Islands. It is characterized by its distinctive white eye-ring and olive-green upperparts. The underparts are yellowish with a slight tinge of green. This species is known for its melodious and varied song, often heard in the forest canopy. Kirk's White-eye primarily feeds on insects, nectar, and fruits. It inhabits tropical and subtropical moist lowland forests, as well as montane forests. Due to habitat loss and potential predation by invasive species, the conservation status of Kirk's White-eye is currently categorized as Near Threatened by the IUCN.
