The Kona Grosbeak, also known as the Kona Finch, is a species of Hawaiian honeycreeper endemic to the island of Hawaii. It has a robust, finch-like bill and distinctive yellow plumage on its head and breast, with olive-green wings and back. This species primarily forages for seeds and insects in the native ohia and koa forests, using its strong bill to crack open seeds. The Kona Grosbeak has faced significant population declines due to habitat loss and introduced predators, and is currently listed as Endangered by the IUCN.
