Kungwe Apalis

Apalis porphyrolaema

The Kungwe Apalis is a small, insect-eating bird found in the montane forests of East Africa. It has a distinctive olive-green upper body and a yellow underbelly, with a black mask and white throat. This species is known for its melodious song, often heard in the dense undergrowth of its habitat. Kungwe Apalis are typically found in pairs or small groups, foraging for insects and larvae in the canopy and mid-levels of the forest. Due to habitat loss and fragmentation, the Kungwe Apalis is considered vulnerable to extinction.
