Lake Duck

Lake Duck, Oxyura vittata, is a duck of the Southern Cone in South America, where it breeds and lives in freshwater places with plenty of vegetation, including wetlands and lakes. It is also known by several alternative names, among them Argentine blue-bill and Argentine ruddy duck. The species is partly migratory and occurs naturally in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay, with an introduced population in the Falkland Islands. It is a member of the Anatidae family and was described by Philippi in 1860.
