Lanceolated Warbler

Locustella lanceolata

The Lanceolated Warbler is a small, secretive bird found in the dense undergrowth of wet forests and scrublands in East Asia. It is known for its distinctive song, a series of high-pitched notes that can be heard during the breeding season. This warbler has a brownish-olive plumage with streaks on the back and a pale underbelly. It forages for insects and spiders in the dense vegetation, often staying low to the ground. The Lanceolated Warbler is a migratory bird, wintering in Southeast Asia. Although not currently considered threatened, its habitat loss and degradation are potential concerns for its future.
