Large Elaenia, Elaenia spectabilis, is a passerine in the tyrant flycatcher family and breeds in western Amazonia, eastern Brazil and central Bolivia. It was described by Pelzeln in 1868. A monotypic species, it is a large elaenia with a small crest and the sexes look alike. Its breeding range extends across the Amazon Basin and south through Brazil and Bolivia into Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina, where it uses forest edges, shrubby clearings, secondary growth and riparian woodland.
