Large Grey Babbler

Argya malcolmi (Sykes, 1832)

Large Grey Babbler, Argya malcolmi, is a passerine bird of the Indian breeding range in the Oriental Region, living across India in dry scrub, open woodland and gardens. It is a large, long-tailed babbler, and the pale outer tail feathers are a clear field mark. Small groups keep together with loud nasal contact calls. The bird is also known for its brown plumage, grey forehead, dark lores, pale grey rump and upper tail coverts, and darker wings. It forages on or near the ground and is often seen in open country.
